press release

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson‑in-Office Erler honours founder of the Moscow Helsinki Group and international Helsinki movement

As Reported ByThe Federal Foreign Office

30.05.2016

Today, the Special Representative of the Federal Government for the OSCE Chairmanship and Coordinator for Intersocietal Cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership Countries, Gernot Erler, is taking part in an event in Berlin to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Moscow Helsinki Group and the international Helsinki movement. The cofounder of the Moscow Helsinki Group, Russian human rights activist Lyudmila Alexeyeva, is expected to attend the event, which is being organised by the EURussia Civil Society Forum in cooperation with Human Rights Watch and the GermanRussian Exchange.

In his address, Erler acknowledges the significance of the Moscow Helsinki Group and the international Helsinki movement it inspired in enforcing human rights and fundamental freedoms, overcoming the division of Europe and in the reunification of Germany. At the same time, Erler expresses his concern about the increasing restrictions on the scope for action of human rights groups and civil society in various OSCE participating States.
One of the most important contributions of the Helsinki Groups to the peaceful revolution in Europe in 1989 and 1990 was to overcome divisions in people’s minds as a prerequisite for political change. Yet unfortunately, we have to concede that in recent years we have moved away again from the idea of a common humanitarian space between Vancouver and Vladivostok. It is therefore not only necessary, but a matter of urgency, that we put a stop to restrictions and attacks on human rights defenders and address differences of opinion regarding the significance of human rights and fundamental freedoms for our common security.”

Erler also specifically honours the role of Lyudmila Alexeyeva and the Moscow Helsinki Group which she cofounded.

When the 1990 Charter of Paris for a new Europe states, “The courage of men and women, the strength of the will of the peoples and the power of the ideas of the Helsinki Final Act have opened a new era of democracy, peace and unity in Europe”, it is also and specifically referring to Lyudmila Alexeyeva and her group.

Background information:
The Moscow Helsinki Group was established on 12 May 1976 by a group of Soviet dissidents and human rights activists to promote and monitor observance of the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act. A large number of groups and associations in Eastern and Western Europe forming an international network are modelled on the Moscow Helsinki Group. They continue to compile information on the violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Lyudmila Alexeyeva, cofounder of the Moscow Helsinki Group, has been a member of Russia’s Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights since 2002. Between 2009 and 2011, she cofounded and played a leading role in organising Strategy31, a civil rights movement defending freedom of assembly. In 2009, Alexeyeva received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in recognition of her committed work for democratic values and human rights as well as her contribution to ending the Cold War and developing German-Russian relations. Last year she was presented with the Václav Havel Human Rights Prize by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for her engagement to defend human rights.

US really? Poll Shows: One-Third of Americans Support Boycotting Israel

Believe it or not but US don't want Jews any longer ....An astounding one-third of Americans believe boycotting Israel is justified and constitutes a legitimate means of applying political pressure on the Jewish State, according to a yet-to-be-released Ipsos survey, Israel’s Channel 2 reported.

What has happened to the deeply Christian US Bible belt and my friends in Texas and Arizona, have they all become "Obamazised "?

Its time the few christians left in the US stands up against this matter or we will soon discuss off our calendar is discriminating Muslims !
This while they kill christians daily in masses in Iraq and Syria.

Ipsos is one of the world’s leading market research firms for hire, managed and controlled by research professionals, offering comprehensive global research programs in 87 countries.

The survey, which will be officially released in advance of an international conference on the struggle against the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, scheduled to open on Tuesday, polled a sample of 1,100 Americans. It suggests that 33% find a boycott against Israel to be justified.

The good news is that a 62% majority of US respondents believe that the anti-Israel BDS movement is a form of modern anti-Semitism. About 50% of Britons also condemn the BDS as being anti-Semitic.

The anti-BDS international conference, titled, “Building Bridges and Fighting Boycotts,” is organized by Israel’s UN envoy Danny Danon, in collaboration with the World Jewish Congress, Keren Hayesod, the American Center for Law and Justice, the Anti-Defamation League, the Zionist Organization of America, Israel Bonds, StandWithUs, B’nai B’rith International, Hillel, and CAMERA.

More than 1,500 are expected to participate, including students, representatives of anti-BDS organizations, Jewish American organizations, and opinion makers.

The following video speaks much for it self ....

Ambassador Yoram Ettinger: Video: Palestinian refugees - whose responsibility?

video

1.  Since the end of WW2, about 100 million refugees from Europe, Asia and Africa have been integrated into their host countries, unlike the Palestinian Arab refugees, who have been sacrificed by their leadership on the altar of delegitimizing Israel.  According to General Alexander Galloway, the UNRWA Director in Jordan, as recounted at a May 25, 1953 hearing of the Near East Senate Subcommittee: “The Arabs states do not want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.”

2. Jordan was the only Arab country accepting the January 26, 1952 UN Resolution #413 (a 3-year-$200MN plan proposed by the UN Secretary General, Dag Hammerskjold) to integrate Palestinian refugees into their host Arab countries.  UN Secretary General, Trygve Lie said on January 3, 1950: The refugees will lead an independent life in the countries which shelter them…. The refugees will no longer be maintained by an international organization….”

3.  Dr. Elfan Rees, an advisor on refugees to the World Council of Churches, contended that due to Arab deception and pressure “The UN Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA) is feeding the dead and non-refugees (NY Post, June 11, 1959).”

4. UNRWA was established on December 8, 1949 as a temporary, 2-3-year relief agency, but became permanent, the largest UN agency, overstaffed, featuring a $1 BN pension fund, and used as a dagger aimed at Israel.

5. UNRWA deals only with Palestinian refugees, employing 30,000 people, compared with 6,400 people employed by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, which deals with 60 million refugees. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees resolves/ends refugees’ status and minimizes their numbers; UNRWA perpetuates and exacerbates refugees’ status and inflates their numbers.

6. According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, as stipulated by the 1951 UN Convention on Refugees: refugee status is not inherited by descendants, but UNRWA applies refugee status in perpetuity – very liberally without much scrutiny - to Arabs (including foreign laborers) who were in Palestine for only two years before the 1948 war.

7. In 2012, UNRWA employees “elected candidates affiliated with Hamas terrorists to 25 out of 27 seats on a union board that represents ten thousand UNRWA workers.  UNRWA facilities were used by Hamas in 2014 to store missiles.

8. The American taxpayer funds 33% of the of the budget of UNRWA, which aborted – under Palestinian and Arab pressure - Israeli offers, in 1978 and 1986, to co-fund the resettling and job-training of Arab refugees in Gaza and Judea and Samaria.

9. Had Arab countries refrained from invading the newly-established Israel, and had Israeli Arabs refrained from collaborating with the invasion – which was driven by the Islamic doctrine that the entire Middle East was divinely and exclusively ordained to Muslims - there would not have been war in 1948-49 nor 820,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands and 320,000 Arab refugees.  Had the Arabs accepted Israeli offers to resettle and job-train Arab refugees, there would not be any refugee left.

10.  The Palestinian leader, Haj Amin al Husseini – touted by Mahmoud Abbas - collaborated with Nazi Germany, conducted Arab-language radio broadcasts from Berlin, planned to extend the Holocaust to Palestine and incited: “Kill the Jews wherever you find them. It will please God, history and Islam.” After 1945, he sustained this message from his Cairo headquarters. On Nov. 24, 1947, the Acting Chairman of the (Palestinian) Arab Higher Committee, Jamal Al-Husseini threatened: “Palestine shall be consumed with fire and blood if the Jews get any part of it.”

11. The Commander-in-Chief of the invading Arab Liberation Army, Fawzi el-Kaukji, a Nazi collaborator, threatened in August, 1947: “Should the UN vote the wrong way, we will initiate a total war… murder, wreck and ruin….” Kaukji was driven by Muhammad’s popular instruction in a Hadith which supplements the Quran: ”The stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say: ‘O Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me; kill him!”

12. The Cyprus-based British Near East (Arab) Broadcasting reported on April 3, 1949: “The Arab Higher Committee encouraged the refugees’ flight from their homes.”

13. The first US Ambassador to Israel, James McDonald, wrote in My Mission in Israel, published in 1951, pages 174-6: “The refugees were on [Arab leaders’] hands as a result of a war, which they had begun and lost…. Most Arab governments show no real concern for the refugees….”

14. The most authentic rogue and sadistic nature of the Palestinian Authority – and a key obstacle to peaceful coexistence - is reflected by its hate-education and opposition to the resettling of Arab refugees, lest it undermine the campaign to delegitimize and dehumanize Israel.

The most sickening thing Muslims do to their Children All Around the World

FGM. Female Genital Mutilation, is a Islamic authorised form of child abuse.
The pain and horror that young girls go through during one of these operations,
is nothing compared to the devastating trauma, physical pain, medical complications
and, at times, death, which follow.

The horrifying practice, meant to “promote virtue” in Muslim girls and women is
another way in which the Muslim world tries to subjugate women.

In Egypt, the practice was outlawed after it led to several deaths of young girls,
yet the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as other Muslim Egyptian leaders are fighting
to legalise the practice once more.

Yusef Al-Badri, one of the Egypt’s most prominent preachers explains that the
practice is “ordered by shariah [religious law] from Allah.”

It is hard enough to fight the horrible suffering of many populations in the world.
It’s even harder when those causing the suffering claim that their inhumane
practices were ordained by God.

This is a ghastly, yet important video that needs to be seen.
